1. Preparation of the text
The manuscript should be submitted electronically as an attached file through e-mail (jaqeditor@gmail.com) to the Chief Editor, Journal of Aquaculture, Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Kausalyaganga, Bhubaneswar 751 002, Odisha, India. The cover letter should include the corresponding author’s full address and telephone/fax numbers and email address and should be sent separately along with the manuscript.
The Paper submitted for publication in the journal must not have been published elsewhere or is not under consideration by any other journal for publication.
The manuscript should normally not exceed 15 pages typed in MS word format (font style: Times New Roman, font size: 12) in double space with a margin of at least 2.5 cm (1 in) on all sides of the page. The metric system of measurements should be followed throughout the text.
The title page should include the title, the name(s) of the author(s) and affiliation and an abstract of not more than 250 words. The name of the corresponding author should be marked with asterisk (*).
The text of the paper should be arranged into separate headings, e.g., Introduction, Material and Methods, Results and Discussion. Acknowledgements, if any, should appear after the Discussion to be followed by References.
Short communications should not exceed 4 typed pages. Abstract of the text and title of the papers in the reference list are not required. Authors may refer to one of the issues of the Journal for the exact format.
2. References
References in the text should be cited indicating the name(s) of the author(s) followed by the year of publication such as Alikunhi (1957), (Bhimachar and Tripathi, 1967), (Chaudhuri et al., 1974). They should be listed alphabetically on separate sheets at the end of the text as follows:
Cole, J. and S. D. Fisher, 1978. Annual metabolism of a temporary pond ecosystem. Am. Midland Nat., 100: 15-22.
Graneli, W., 1978. Sediment oxygen uptake in South Swedish lake. Oikos, 30: 7-15.
In case of books, the title of the book, name(s) of the author(s) or editor(s), name and location of the publishes, and total number of pages should be given as follows:
Dehadrai, P. V. and S. D. Tripathi, 1976. Environment and ecology of freshwater air-breathing teleosts. In: Respiration of Amphibious Vertebrates (Ed. G. M. Hughes). Academic Press, London, pp. 39-72.
Jhingran, V. G., 1975. Fish and Fisheries of India. Hindustan Publishing Corporation, Delhi, 954 pp.
3. Tables
Tables should be typed on separate pages and numbered as Table 1, 2, 3, etc. Each table should be provided with a suitable and short title. It should be appropriately referred to in the text.
4. Illustrations
Illustrations should be numbered serially and referred to in the text. Photographs or illustrations should be submitted as high resolution TIFF or JPEJ file format. All figures should have suitable legends.
The tables and illustrations should be given at the end of the text i.e., after the references.
5. Scientific Evaluation
All contributions will be carefully referred for international relevance and quality. A list of three subject specialists who do not belong to the organisation to which the author(s) is (are) affiliated may be provided along with the manuscript. However, the Editorial Board reserves the right to refer the paper to any expert found suitable to review the article.
6. Proofs
The corresponding author will receive the galley/electronic proof of their paper from the Editor in E-mail. He/she should return the corrected proof within 48 hours of its receipt. If there is delay in the return, the proof will be corrected by the Editorial Board, but the responsibility will be entirely that of the author(s).
7. Reprints
The corresponding author will receive a pdf copy of his/her published paper. For order of paper reprints, the editorial office may be contacted prior to publication of the article.
